"Internet Explorer (Enable DEP)" entry found in installed programs (W7/64) SOLVED, "FIXIT" error
just wondering what this is doing there, I got DEP enabled for all programs in the appropiate interface (system advanced settings/performance, but I never saw such an entry, it just doesn't make any sense. What could have done that? malware? there's of course no publisher info :) ...any help appreciated.

I also have a grayed out entry in IE8 options, related to DEP obviously, see screen shot. Never saw it before but I hardly use IE so, can't tell if that comes from a patch. (the setting is saying "enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks") Anyway, this doesn't justify the entry in installed programs.

okay I've uninstall "that", I didn't just delete the entry I uninstalled it, whatever that is, doesn't seem to affect the setting in IE8 options, but I still want to know what such an entry was doing in the programs and features panel...

I think I got it, I suddenly remembered that I played with "fixit" a few weeks ago, and that's probably when I uselessly enabled DEP for IE, when it already is in W7. This should explain the entry that I found in the program list.
